Rock Surfing (Passive)

Taliyah is a control mage who can be played in the Mid Lane or Jungle. Taliyah excels at manipulating fights with her strong zone control and excellent roaming potential. Using her combo Seismic Shove and Unraveled Earth, she can punish enemies positioning while her passive and Weaver's Wall allow her to influence fights and objectives across the map. Taliyah thrives in teamfights around narrow terrain where she can take advantage of her abilities.
Combo: 1 > 2 > 3 > 1

Rock Surfing - Taliyah gains Movement Speed while out of combat and near a wall.
To maximize Rock Surfing's value, hug terrain whenever rotating between lanes and objectives. After pushing your minion wave, always look for roam opportunities and remember that the passive is disabled during combat.
Threaded Volley - Taliyah throws 5 rocks in a target direction, dealing magic damage and creating Worked Ground beneath her. Hitting the same target with multiple rocks deals reduced damage. When using Threaded Volley on Worked Ground, it consumes the ground to throw a powerful boulder that costs less mana, has a shorter cooldown, deals more damage, slows enemies hit and stuns monsters. Both the rocks and the boulder deal bonus damage to monsters.
Threaded Volley is Taliyah's main poke tool and is used to clear waves so you can quickly roam to impact the rest of the map. It's best to aim Threaded Volley where enemies are moving rather than where they are standing, and reposition between casts to manage Worked Ground. Combo'ing Threaded Volley with Seismic Shove and Unraveled Earth helps guarantee multiple hits. You can also use Threaded Volley to check brushes. If you hit an enemy, you'll notice the rocks will stop, and it will also make a specific sound.
Seismic Shove - Causes an area of ground to erupt, knocking enemies in the area in the chosen direction after a brief delay.
Seismic Shove is Taliyah's key crowd control ability. It's used to displace enemies and set up her full combo. It works best when combo'd with Unraveled Earth to force enemies through stones for extra damage. Seismic Shove can also be used to peel enemies off you by pushing them away; however, it is very hard to pull off and takes a long time to execute, so it's not recommended.
Unraveled Earth - Taliyah scatters stones in an area that damage and briefly slow enemies who walk over them. If enemies dash or are knocked through stones, the rocks detonate for extra damage and stun them. It also deals increased damage to monsters.
Unraveled Earth is used to control space and set up her damage combo. Smartly placing Unraveled Earth around choke points and objectives makes it super effective in fights. It works best when combo'd with Seismic Shove and Threaded Volley for burst damage. If enemies are chasing you, use Unraveled Earth to force them to either back off or take damage if they walk through.
Weaver's Wall - Taliyah creates a large stone wall that knocks back enemies when it forms. Weaver's Wall can be recast for Taliyah to ride along it as it travels across the map. It cannot be used if she has recently taken damage from enemy champions or turrets.
Weaver's Wall is used to split fights, block movement, and control access to key areas of the map. Be sure to recast Weaver's Wall to ride the wall for fast rotations or repositioning. Weaver's Wall is best used to isolate enemies and cut off their escape routes, or to set up around objectives like Dragon and Baron.

Infinity Orb boosts Taliyah's burst damage and ability to finish off enemies when they are low on health after she has already dealt a lot of damage with her combo.
Awakened Soulstealer reduces Taliyah's ability cooldowns after getting a takedown, letting you use Taliyah's combo more often to carry in teamfights.
Rabadon's Deathcap massively boosts Taliyah's Ability Power, which directly boosts all her damage. Since her kit relies on high burst combos, the extra AP makes it easier for her to be able to delete squishy targets.
With runes, we have the following:
Electrocute - Electrocute fits perfectly with Taliyah's burst combo playstyle. You can easily proc Electrocute after hitting Seismic Shove, allowing you to follow up with Unraveled Earth and Threaded Volley to deal more reliable damage.
Botanist - Botanist helps Taliyah gain gold when you destroy a plant, so be sure to hit plants when roaming around the map. The extra Honeyfruit heal also helps Taliyah stay in lane longer and trade more effectively.
Absolute Focus - Absolute Focus allows Taliyah's abilities to deal extra damage while keeping a safe distance, staying healthy in teamfights and skirmishes.
Scorch - Scorch enhances Taliyah's early game poke with Threaded Volley, adding extra damage to help chip opponents down over time.
Bone Plating - Bone Plating reduces burst damage from enemy all-ins. After she gets engaged on or trades in lane, it blocks part of the damage from the next few hits.
Flash is essential on Taliyah because she is an immobile mage who lacks reliable escape tools when caught out of position. Flash gives her a way to avoid danger, reposition during teamfights or escape assassins.
Ignite increases Taliyah's kill pressure when performing her combo, providing true damage and reducing the enemies' early for a short duration.

In the early game, as Taliyah, you should focus on getting lane priority through poking enemies and efficiently wave-clearing with Threaded Volley. At level 3, you can look for your combo, knocking back enemies with Seismic Shove when they misposition, as most other mid laners can't return the same damage output. Try not to spam Seismic Shove and wait for the right moment when you know it's going to hit the enemy. It can also be saved for when your jungler ganks, so you can chain the crowd control to guarantee your combo. Once a minion wave is pushed under the enemy tower, use Rock Surfing to roam quickly to support your jungler or side lanes.

In the late game, your focus should be on making picks using Seismic Shove with or without your team. A single pick can change the entire game, giving your team the advantage in teamfights and when looking to take objectives. In teamfights, stay behind your frontline and use Threaded Volley to deal consistent damage while looking for opportunities to hit Seismic Shove on high-priority targets. Save Weaver's Wall to split the enemy, block escape routes or chase enemies looking to escape.

Overall, Taliyah is a rewarding control mage who can look to make picks with Seismic Shove and, with smart positioning, can win a fight with one combo.
