How to play Tryndamere

Tryndamere is a fighter jungler. Tryndamere can also be played in the top lane but in this guide we will focus on the jungle role. He is really weak in the early game, not having the best damage or mobility. When you farm the jungle and reach Level 5 and get access to Undying Rage (Ultimate), this is when you can start to help your team. With your Ultimate you are unable to die for a short period of time. This is great for ganking and tower diving. If Tryndamere doesn't get behind in the early game and can survive to the late game, you can do great in team fights and split pushing.

Tryndamere Build Breakdown

Blade of the Ruined King
Statikk Shiv
Infinity Edge
Phantom Dancer
Guardian Angel
Boots of Swiftness - Stasis

Tryndamere uses a mixture of both attack damage and attack speed that works really well with his kit. Blade of the Ruined King is a perfect 1st item. It grants attack damage and attack speed which suit his play style well. Blade of the Ruined King also has a great passive which helps Tryndamere when chasing down enemies. After Blade of the Ruined King, you want to build more attack damage and critical strike chance/damage. Because Tryndamere has an Ultimate that actually makes him unkillable, you don't need to buy tank items and you can go full damage to run in and deal a lot of damage.

For runes, we have the following:

Conqueror

Tryndamere is a fighter so he wants to get in the enemies face and attack constantly whilst using his spells. This allows him to get stacks pretty fast, to deal more damage to the enemies.

Brutal

This helps out Tryndamere in the early game to get that extra bit of damage when clearing the jungle and ganking lanes.

Hunter - Titan

With Tryndamere, you will be in a lot of fights and ganking a lot which means you will be getting plenty of takedowns. This allows Tryndamere to get a bit more health with each takedown to make him that little bit extra tanky.

Mastermind

The go-to rune for junglers in Wild Rift! Allows you to deal 10% bonus true damage to epic monsters and turrets.

Flash
Smite

For summoner spells, Flash is a must on most champions. It's a great spell to get out of a situation or if you are trying to go in for the killing blow. Smite is a must for when you are playing jungle. Helps you out a lot when clearing the jungle and securing the epic monsters.

Jungle Path

Tryndamere has a decent early jungle clear. This means that you can work your way around the jungle and get Level 5 as soon as possible. He doesn't have the best 1 vs 1 potential vs other junglers. This means that most of the time you want to go for a full clear in the jungle. It is best to start at Red Brambleback as you don't have mana and you don't lose a lot of health when jungle clearing.

This is what the jungle patch would look like:

  1. Red Brambleback
  2. Raptors
  3. Wolves
  4. Blue Sentinel
  5. Scuttle
  6. Enemy Krugs or your Gromp

Below is a beginner's guide for jungle in Wild Rift. It goes in-depth about every jungle camp, epic monsters and more!

Late Game

If you're able to get to the late game with Tryndamere, and you have your core items and a few levels, you can use this opportunity to split push where possible. This means going to one of the side lanes (top or bottom) and pushing the minions. Your Mastermind will give you a lot of tower damage and your Ultimate can help you out a lot when trying to fight. However, as a jungler, your main objective is to keep track of when Dragonss, Rift Herald and Baron spawn. Taking these epic monsters will give you and your team an advantage in the game. When a team fight happensm you want to make sure you are at the front protecting your team.

Conclusion

Tryndamere is a very niche pick and has a unique play style. If you like running towards the enemy team dealing no damage and literally staying alive on 1HP with his ultimate then Tryndamere is the perfect champion for you.
