How to Play Xayah

Xayah is a dragon lane champion that focuses on attack damage to kill the enemy team. Xayah is not the best in the early game but can cope pretty well in the laning phase. The later the game goes and the more items she gets, the stronger she becomes. This is because of her auto-attacks dealing a bunch of critical damage and if you can stack up enough feathers, your Bladecaller can do a lot of damage. When paired with Rakan in the bot lane, you both get some bonuses. You can recall with Rakan at any point and if you use your Deadly Plumage, you also give Rakan attack speed and movement speed when hitting enemies. This makes Xayah and Rakan a perfect bot lane combo.

Xayah Build Breakdown

Stormrazor
Infinity Edge
Mortal Reminder
Bloodthirster
Navori Quickblades
Plated Steelcaps - Protobelt

Xayah does well when building attack damage items, she doesn't need to build a lot of attack speed because you already get a lot of attack speed from Deadly Plumage and Lethal Tempo. Stormrazor is a great core item for Xayah, it gives her a lot of attack damage, attack speed and critical strike chance. Infinity Edge is another powerful item for Xayah. It gives her a lot of attack damage and gives her critical strikes more damage.

Onto the runes, we have:

Lethal Tempo

With Xayah, you will be attacking a lot at range and she can stack Lethal Tempo very easily. When Lethal Tempo is fully stacked you get a huge burst of attack speed that helps Xayah deal a lot of damage.

Hunter - Vampirism

The only problem with this build is that there is not a lot of physical vamp to help keep Xayah alive. This is where vampirism comes in to help. As an AD Carry, you will always find yourself getting takedowns which will allow you to get more AD and vamp.

Hunter - Titan

As an AD Carry, you will always find yourself either getting a lot of kills or assists which works well with this rune. You will gain health each time you get a unique takedown.

Hunter - Genius

Xayah will always be involved in team fights and she will get a lot of takedowns. After every unique takedown, Xayah gets Ability Haste so she can use her abilities more often which means she can get more feathers out to deal more damage.

Flash
Barrier

For summoner spells, Flash is a must on most champions. It's a great spell to get you out of a bad situation or allows you to flash into the team to get the killing blow. The go-to 2nd spell is Barrier. The most important thing to note with Barrier is that it does not last a long time so you need to make sure you use it when you are about to take damage.

Early Game

Xayah is a decent champion in the early game. You can use your Double Daggers to try and poke down the enemy and/or farm from range. You want to stay as passive as you can and try not to die so you can farm up to get your core items. A nice early game combo that you can use to root the enemies really quickly is Double Daggers + 1 auto-attack, this will give you 3 feathers to recall with Bladecaller and if all 3 feathers hit the enemy, they will be rooted so you can get some nice damage off.

Late Game

Once you reach the late game and have your core items, this is where Xayah can start to become strong and be able to deal a lot of damage. The best tip I can give you is, do not waste your Bladecaller, stack as many feathers as you can. Also, remember that Featherstorm can dodge all types of damage and crowd control to keep you alive. It's always best as an AD Carry to stay grouped with your team. You want to stay as far back from the enemies as possible and allow your front line to go in front of you to tank all the damage. Most of the time you are the main damage output, so if you are caught by yourself and die then your team is in really big trouble. Make sure you stay safe at all times.

Conclusion

Xayah has a very high skill gap and can be very hard at times to understand how she works. She is one of my favourite champions! She is a super safe champion and can do a lot of damage in the late game.
