How to play Nasus

Nasus is a top-lane fighter. He really struggles in the early game but once you reach the late game and have a lot of stacks from Siphoning Strike (1st Ability), you have the potential to one-shot enemies. The way you get stacks from Siphoning Strike is by using the ability to last hit minions. This is the most important thing with Nasus and you must do this to help yourself win the game. Once you reach the late game you can 1 vs 1 a lot of champions and take down towers really quickly.

Nasus Build Breakdown

Trinity Force
Dead Man's Plate
Spirit Visage
Sterak's Gage
Guardian Angel
Plated Steelcaps - Teleport

Nasus uses a mixture of both damage and tank items that work well with her kit. Trinity Force is the perfect item and a must-buy on Nasus. This item gives him some damage and tank stats. Trinity Force's passive effects also work really well with Nasus' abilities. When activating Siphoning Strike (1st Ability), it activates the Spellblade effect so when you auto attack you will get the extra damage. Nasus also works really well with the extra movement speed you get from the Rage passive, as this makes it easier to chase down enemies. Dead Man's Plate is a great example of a tank item that works well with Nasus. It gives him some health and armor to survive and also gives him a lot of movement speed which helps when chasing down enemies.

For runes, we have the following:

Grasp of the Undying

A very unique rune for Nasus. As mentioned before, you will always be in the face of your enemy as you are mainly a melee champion and you will be tanking a lot of damage. So when you auto-attack champions, you will gain some extra health from this rune.

Brutal

This helps out Nasus in the early game to get that extra bit of damage when last hitting minions and trading vs the enemy champion.

Regeneration

In the early game, you will be using a lot of abilities to stack your damage and to keep yourself alive. At times, this can leave you low on mana so this helps get that extra little regen.

Sweet Tooth

A great rune for if you get low in the laning phase and need that extra bit of healing and free money.

Flash
Ignite

For summoner spells, Flash is a must on most champions. It's a great spell to get out of a situation or if you are trying to go in for the killing blow. For the 2nd spell, it's best to go for Ignite. This helps a lot when going into fights and trying to get that extra damage to kill off the enemies.

Early Game

Nasus struggles a lot in the early game. You need to make sure you play passive in the early game unless you have a great opportunity to go in if the enemies makes a mistake. In the laning phase, you want to stack your Siphoning Strike (1st Ability) as much as possible on every minion. If you get poked early on, you have an inbuilt physical vamp with Soul Eater (Passive) that can help you heal up. Nasus can also poke back a bit with Spirit Fire (3rd Ability).

Late Game

Once you get to the late game and you have your core items plus plenty of stacks with Siphoning Strike (1st Ability), you can start to fight and become unstoppable. At this stage of the game, the best thing you can do is split-push, this means going to one of the side lanes (top or bottom) and pushing the minions. Nasus' 1 vs 1 potential is really good because of his kit and he pushes towers really fast. Make sure you keep an eye on your team and use the Teleport (Boots Enchant) to group with your team if they look like they need help. When in a 5 vs 5 team fight, your main goal is to get on top of the enemy backline! Use your Wither (2nd Ability) on the enemy carry to reduce their attack speed and movement speed and use Fury of The Sands (Ultimate) to stay alive.

Conclusion

Overall Nasus is a very easy champion to play. If you are ok with farming in the early game and want to run down in the late game and be able to one-shot any champion then Nasus is the best champion for you.
