Skarner is a tank who can be played in the jungle. With Skarner's strong crowd control, wall traversing, and game-changing ultimate, he can isolate key targets and drag them into his team for easy kills. He excels around objectives and in teamfights, where he's able to engage and split enemies, making him a valuable frontline tank. While he doesn't have high damage to carry games, his playmaking, survivability and utility can setup your teammates for victory.

Skarner's attacks and abilities apply Quaking to targets for 4 seconds. At 3 stacks, enemies take bonus magic damage based on their maximum health. This effect deals increased damage to monsters.
Be sure to combo basic attacks and abilities to reach 3 stacks quickly. In extended fights, you can add significant damage while also being a frontline tank for your team. Threads of Vibration also deals increased damage to monsters, so be sure to hit the big monster to accelerate your clear speed.
Skarner grabs a boulder, empowering his next 3 attacks with bonus Attack Speed and AOE damage. The third attack deals extra damage based on the target's maximum health and slows them. You can recast Shattered Earth to throw the boulder, damaging and slowing enemies in an area.
Applying the slow from Shattered Earth before engaging makes landing Ixtal's Impact much easier. Shattered Earth also resets Skarner's auto attack, helping you clear the jungle much quicker and deal more damage in teamfights.
Skarner gains a shield based on his maximum health and creates an earthquake around himself, dealing magic damage and slowing nearby enemies.
Skarner can move during Seismic Bastion's cast time. Sometimes you want to use it before engaging to gain a shield that helps you survive the initial burst. However, the slow can help you stick to enemies after landing Ixtal's Impact.
Skarner charges in a target direction, ignoring terrain and can grab the first enemy champion or large monster he hits. If he carries them into a wall, they take damage and are stunned. The charge can be ended early when recasting Ixtali's Impact.
Use terrain to your advantage by charging through walls for surprise ganks. Always try to hit enemy carries so you can drag them out of position. Remember, you can end the charge early with the recast if you need better positioning.
Skarner lashes forward, dealing magic damage and suppressing up to 3 enemy champions, dragging them with him for a short duration. If he hits an enemy champion, he gains bonus Movement Speed.
If Impale is used during Shattered Earth, Skarner automatically throws the boulder in the direction of Impale's cast. To guarantee you hit Impale, use it after successfully hitting Ixtali's Impact, pushing an enemy against the wall. Make sure you drag enemies towards your team so they can follow up and burst them down.

Searing Crown gives great tank stats and helps Skarner deal more damage with his abilities and basic attacks to jungle camps and enemy champions.
Sunfire Aegis allows Skarner to deal consistent damage with the Immolate passive when Skarner stays close to enemies while using his crowd control and abilities.
Unending Despair enhances Skarner's survivability during extended fights. You'll be able to stay in the middle of the enemy team and can consistently trigger the item's damage and self-heal.
For runes, we have the following:
Ice Overlord synergizes extremely well with Skarner's crowd control. When pinning an enemy to a wall or landing your ultimate, Skarner gets a huge amount of resistance, slows nearby enemies, and, after a short period, also deals damage.
Unshakeable gives Skarner more resistances when diving into teamfights and being surrounded by multiple enemies, helping his survivability and impact in teamfights.
Bone Plating helps Skarner take reduced damage when engaging in teamfights and looking for ganks.
Overgrowth allows Skarner to gain permanent health throughout the game when killing jungle camps. This will help his survivability in teamfights.
Nimbus Cloak gives Skarner a short burst of movement speed when using Flash or Smite to allow him to stay close to enemies to continue to deal damage or to escape danger.

Skarner's early game focus is farming the jungle to quickly get level 5 and to get enough gold to buy his coretank items, so you can start to become a frontline tank for your team. You can look for early ganks with Ixtali's Impact in fog of war to surprise enemies and try to get an early advantage. Skarner wants to start Blue Sentinel to help with early mana regeneration so you can use his abilities more often to help with his jungle clear.
This is what the jungle path would look like:
Below is a beginner's guide for Jungle in Wild Rift. It goes in-depth about Jungle clearing, epic monsters, ganking and more!

In the Late Game, Skarner is strongest when focusing on getting picks on high-value enemies and controlling the area around objectives. Look for opportunities to use your ultimate, especially around choke points where it becomes difficult for enemies to escape. It's important to be patient in teamfights, wait for the right moment when enemies misposition, and don't be afraid to play more defensively and peel for your carries.

Overall, Skarner is an easy-to-learn, durable tank who thrives on strong crowd control, reliable engages, and excellent teamfight presence. While he may not have the most damage output, his ability to engage and protect allies makes him a valuable pick.
